Been There, Done That...

The fear of flying alone had greatly reduce ever since i picked up diving. Within clicks on the internet, and some emails exchange, I'm all ready to go. Khao Lak, there i goes this time...
Awoken by the taxi driver, saying that I had arrived, my thought was "are you serious? we look like we're at a golf course." I checked in at the reception and it kind of shock me when I was offer a ride on the bike to my room. So how far exactly is my room, I thought. I'm glad when arrived at my room which is the first cottage nearest to the main road. I walked to the divecenter to get my gears prepared, and the remaining day, shopping along the main road, eating(i think they had the sweetest coconut) and getting a massage.
I woke up the next day at 7am, had my breakfast at the restaurant of my resort, upon signing the bill, I was offered a ride with another guest to divecenter. Chris(the guest) was another diver joining this 3 days 2 nights live-on-board(lob) trip on the MV Parinee to Richelieu Rocks.
At the divecenter, everyone were chatting and are very excited about the trip. We got up this truck which seems to be the taxi in Khao Lak and drove to the jetty. We board MV Parinee where more crews are waiting for us onboard. We were welcome warmly, introduced again and given a bottle with our name tagged on it which after that we were told that they were trying to be as eco as possible, stopping the use of plastic disposable bottle. As the boat start to move off, we were given slight orientation of our boat(the rooms and whose, sun deck, smoking area, dinning area, wet area, shower rooms etc.), having our schedule written on the board (timing of meals, briefings, r&r, dives and its location etc.).
Finally at 11am, after settling in and a big breakfast, we arrived at our first divesite, Boon  Sung Wreck. The water was warm at 29 degree celsius, visibility is good. We could see honeycomb morray eels, ghostpipe fish, dancing shrimps, juvenile sweetlip, scorpionfish (which is usually camoflage),the pretty but poisonous lionfish, porcupine fish, boxer shrimps, white-eyes morray eels, box fish, cuttlefish, yellowtail barracuda, nudibranches and the list goes on. Back onboard, food are always there, the crews introduced us a game call the "angry toothbrush". We got given a small paper with a name of someone onboard, and they are our victim, we're suppose to make him or her look at our toothbrush at a spot with no witnesses, and if we manage to do that, it meant he or she was killed. The dead had to reveal his or her victim to the killer, and he or she will goes on killing.
Over the next 3 days the games goes on, and we did our dives at Koh Bon, a night dive at Koh Tachai Reef North where we saw big red colour reef crab, tiny red sporred coral crab hiding in the coral, reef octopus etc., 3 dive at Richelieu Rock and a sunset dive at Koh Tachai, a morning dive at Koh Tachai Pinnacle, and final dive at Koh Bon again where the rare big black manta ray appears. We did see creatures like seahorse, leaffish which can be pretty rare at times, not to mention the vast schools of snappers, tuna, mackeral, jacks and trevallies circling the almost all the sites. Tiny silver fishes thats in large quantities in the water, made it seems you are diving in a starry world.
I can't wait to have a computer, shared my photos on the beautiful fishes, videos on the octopus changing its colours, cuttlefishes apparently seems to be mating, the tiny starry schools of fishes. Everything had been so fasinating.
The saddest part of this trip, on the last final three hours, I dropped my camera into the sea by accident. We were in the open sea, the boat were moving fast towards the land, we couldn't do anything to recover it. I cried for a little while, everyone on the boat had been real sweet, some gave me hugs, there's one who came up to me and said "I knew my photos aren't as good as yours, but if you don't mind, I will gladly send them to your email." I figured out there's no point pondering over the camera as well, and cheer up.
Back on land, we went back to our resort for a rest, before we met for dinner, drinks and games. We had our night up til 2am, and everyone couldn't walk straight. Due to the 24 hours no-flying rules, some of us are flying of in the evening the next day, some remain in Khao Lak continued to chill out and some move on to other part of Thailand. We had our wishing lanterns on the beach like what you can see mostly from Taiwan Tourism advertisement. I flew back 41 hours after the 3 days 2 nights trips. It's a real "wow" to the great things I saw underwater, the awesome people who had all been so family to me onboard.
I have been there, done that. What about you?

Half Apple

Drinking With Colleagues...

We had a tower of hoegarden at The Queen at Sentosa Boardwalk, follow by having mutiple jugs of tiger and some food at Food Republic outside St James.

I'm quite touched by what my Assistant Manager tell me, about how I on the ball I am, which in turn motivate him and kept him energise. He said although my words hurts at time, but it's straight and direct into the point that push people going.

1/4 of the 2011

1/4 of 2011 is almost gone. Up and down in life as always...

Learn another philosophy in life... sometime when one spread rumours and made everyone believed that you're in the wrong, you can either choose to deny/protest or maintain silent... apparently both choice doesn't keep those people mouth shut... what u'll get from silence is everyone think that u admitted you're wrong... what u'll get from denial is everyone thinks that u refused to admit you're wrong... so how to make your choice? i think u can only accept it... :(

Got a new paint for my walls at home before Chinese New Year.

March had been a lovely month so far, I've got promoted from server to captain. Spend my first weekend at Marina Bay Sands, and thinks they're super cool... We were served champagne while queueing to check-in... Love their swimming pool, jaccuzzi, sauna and hotpool... If only we are rich and can go there regularly... Also on Jasmine and Yeow Hwa ROM for that weekend... We were served a super weird test tube drink at Tung Lok Restaurant during their ROM Lunch Reception.

I spend my 2nd weekend of March at Kuala Lumpur, hanging out with Edwin kor, and Willy on Friday night. Waiting for Winnie, Nickey and Suhanti to arrive at 12.30am before Edwin kor send us back to hotel. Visiting Batu Caves and experiencing how hintus pray and the dots on their forehead represent blessing. Besides that, we got lost due to the complicated printings of their train mapping. The rest of the trips are just shopping and eatting, nevertheless it's pretty fun...

What am I doing today? I thought I wanna read up some past books and get the knowledge into my head, but the thought of studying is serious oh my god to me... hahahaha....

Why am I blogging? Just wanna update little pieces so I can keep this blog as a memo in e future... :)
